Scandi Short Versitip Fly Line 7wt 425gr Straw
The RIO Scandi Short VersiTip is a shooting head specifically designed for smaller rivers and tight casting situations. Developed and manufactured with a long front taper, this head produces wonderful tight loops that turn over beautifully at distance. It is particularly well-suited for the Great Lakes rivers and is considered one of the easiest casting spey designs ever made.
Packaged with the head are 4 different 10 ft long tips: a floating tip, an intermediate tip, a type 3 density compensated sinking tip, and a type 6 sinking tip. The short length of these tips allows anglers to fish narrow runs and tight situations, while still providing enough body outside the rod to make an easy cast.
Despite the compact size of the head, it has enough power to turn over 15 ft tips when a longer head is required. Additionally, it can handle MOW tips of the appropriate size with ease, allowing anglers to adjust the depth as conditions dictate.
Notably, the entire head length of each size is only 33 ft, including the tips. This compact design works particularly well on switch rods and shorter, modern spey rods, providing anglers with a versatile and easy-to-use shooting head option.
